Castile soap is the original multitasker. This traditional, coconut-oil–based soap can do a little bit of everything—wash hands, clean dishes, mop floors, even tackle light laundry—without the synthetic foaming agents and fragrances found in most conventional cleaners.

Designed and made in Oregon, then delivered by PurposeFill in refillable glass bottles, it’s a wonderfully simple way to cut down on single-use plastic and unnecessary ingredients.

Why We Love It

  • Truly all-purpose: great for handwashing, dishes, counters, and floors

  • Concentrated formula—just a little goes a long way

  • Made with organic coconut oil and a short, simple ingredient list

  • Free from SLS, SLES, phthalates, dyes, and synthetic fragrances

  • Readily biodegradable and made to help protect rivers and lakes

  • Gentle on most skin types compared to conventional detergents

  • Never tested on animals

Castile soap is naturally low-foaming compared to conventional detergents—so don’t be fooled by fewer bubbles. It’s still doing serious cleaning behind the scenes.

How It Works

A delivery-based refillery is a new concept for many of us, so here’s how it works:

  1. Step 1: Place your “first fill” order. We recommend getting a 16 oz bottle, which comes with a reusable pump top, plus a 32 oz or 64 oz bottle with a lid for easy, at-home refills!

  2. Step 2: Enjoy clean, effective products every day, knowing you reduced single-use plastic use.

  3. Step 3: When you’re ready, order a “bottle swap.” We’ll deliver a new container with just a lid (keep your pump top).

  4. Step 4: Rinse and put your empties out for pickup on delivery day. We sanitize, reuse, and keep the cycle going!

Ingredients

Organic Coconut Oil (plant-based cleansing ingredient)
Potassium Hydroxide (mineral used in the soap-making process; consumed in saponification and not present as-is in the finished soap)
Fragrance-free. No added dyes, preservatives, or synthetic fragrances.

Instructions

Castile soap is very concentrated—start with less than you think and adjust as needed.

General hand & body wash: Use a small pump of undiluted soap and lather with water, or dilute in a pump bottle at about ¼ cup soap to ¾ cup water.

Dishwashing (by hand): Add a few drops to a sponge, dish brush, or sink of warm water. Great for everyday dishes; for heavy, greasy pans, you may need a bit more.

All-purpose surface cleaner: Mix 1–2 tsp of castile soap in 1 quart of warm water in a spray bottle. Spray on counters, tables, and other water-safe surfaces, then wipe clean. (Avoid unfinished wood and natural stone that shouldn’t be exposed to soap.)

Floor cleaner: Add ⅓ cup castile soap to 2 gallons of warm water. Mop as usual and allow floors to air dry.

Always spot-test on a small, inconspicuous area first—especially on fabrics, rugs, or delicate surfaces.

Safety

Keep out of reach of children. Avoid contact with eyes; if contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with water. If ingested, drink water and consult a doctor. Use only on water-safe surfaces and fabrics.
